Album Cover Artwork

My latest project was shooting the album cover for my good friend Bill Lachenmyer’s new CD. Bill is a great guy and a local resident here in Mt. Shasta. Along with Carl Schwindeman and John McDowell, their band is called “Long Highway“.

Their latest release is called “Last Call” and is getting very good reviews already. Take a few minutes to listen to some of the tracks, you will not be disappointed!

You can find it on Amazon, iTunes , CD Universe, CD Baby and many other sources if you search online.

Anyway, I had a great time being the photographer on this project, getting just the right shot of one of our long highways of Northern California!

The new redesign for this website has finally been completed.

The gallery is easier to look through and we have a fresh clean new look & feel for the new year.

Go Upstairs at The Gallery in Mt. Shasta

Renamed “The Gallery Experience”, the beautiful upstairs area of The Gallery in Mt Shasta has been re-vamped and re-dedicated as a gorgeous gallery space for the enjoyment of all art lovers.

They have also launched the opening of The Gallery Coffee Break, where you can enjoy a gourmet coffee & chocolate bar.

I am one of three artists comprising the premiere exhibition in this awesome new space. I am accompanied by Alice Nathan, a plein-air landscape oil painter and Willo Balfrey, a plein-air landscape pastel artist.

In celebration of the brand new gallery space upstairs, and the first exhibition being held there, you are invited to the first opening event today at 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Check out my new special online exhibit, themed “Mirages et Illusions”. It is presented by Arts-Up, the International Contemporary Art Network. It runs from July 1st to September 30th, 2010. It is part of their quarterly thematic exhibitions. They have some very original & intriguing themes running throughout the year.

Arts-Up critique – Edward Welter.

Clartés, repères, cavités, plis, encoignures : tout dans l’œuvre du peintre franco-américain Edward Welter devient une sorte d’appel au zénith. L’artiste prouve que la peinture abstraire reste toujours peu ou prou empreinte du spiritualité. Mais une spiritualité qui n’a rien d’extraterrestre. On n’erre pas dans l’espace car le créateur cherche moins des lignes de fuite que ce qui ramène à l’être et à son sol. En une telle œuvre il n’y a pas de sujet sinon la peinture elle-même à quelques bémols (mais ils sont importants) près. Se perd le cours du monde pour retrouver le sens de la peinture. Si elle se veut rédemptrice elle ne cherche pas à fuir dans son propre commentaire ou dans le mépris ou l’indifférence envers le réel. Elle fait beaucoup mieux. Par son pas au delà l’oeuvre ne cherche pas un ailleurs mais une relecture par le rythme des formes et des couleurs. (Read more.)
